Cisco Smart Spaces Summit & Hackathon: September 17 – 19

The Cisco Webex Innovation Team in partnership with Meraki, DNA-Spaces, IP Phone BU, Contact Center BU, Umbrella, and the Webex organizations welcomes you to Richardson, Texas on September 17-19 for three days of ideation, design, creation, and demos of Smart Spaces use cases. The last day culminates with demo day with customers seeing the hacks!

The event has three tracks. Please review the sections below to get an overview, understand the expectations of the event and make sure you are in the appropriate Tracks.

  • Track A: Business Summit (Sept 17-19)
  • Track B: Hackathon (Sept 17-19.  Sept 16 is hardware/software setup day for ISV’s and Cisco BU’s.)
  • Track C: Customer Summit (Sept 18-19)

Track A: Business Summit

Date: September 17-19
Location: Cisco Building 5
Main Room: Bullwinkle – 1st Floor (80 seat max)

Due to room capacity, only 1 company member will be allowed in the room.  Priority will be given to ISV’s and Partners who have also brought in a developer for the hackathon.

Track B: Hackathon

Date: September 16-19
Location: Cisco Building 6
Main Room: Callisto – 1st Floor (100 seat max)

ISV’s and Cisco BU’s: If you are an ISV or with a Cisco BU and want to have your product hacked on, please attend the Monday session on September 16 at 10 AM in Callisto to assist with logistics for the hackathon event. 

As a hacker at the Smart Spaces event, you will focus on creating products that tie into Workplace Transformation/Smart Spaces use cases. The objective is to create an integration of a Cisco product or using multiple Cisco products with another ISV (Independent Software Vendor).

Hackers of their respective company/BU will also be tech support and one person from your company/BU must present during the first day of the hackathon over their product to their fellow developers at the event. If you want people to learn about your product and hack on it, you must present! More information about the speaking slot is below.

This is an Open Hackathon and there will be two Hackathon tracks.
Hack Track A: Summit Use Cases – Use cases are from the Summit Google Design Sprint workshop. These use cases will be presented on Sept 17 to the hackers in the afternoon.
Hack Track B: Open Innovation – Open to any use case relating to Workplace Transformation

We will assign teams after collecting this questionnaire. Teams will be in groups of 4-6 people in a team. NOTE: We will not pair you with competing products/partners or services during the hackathon. You are also welcome to bring your own hardware such as raspberry pi’s, Arduino’s, HID badge readers, etc.

Call for Presentations

Each ISV, Partner, and BU that wishes to present must fill out the form below and review the presentation requirements. Please fill this form if you will represent your company as the onsite Summit speaker, Hackathon speaker and/or Customer Summit speaker.

This form must be completed by August 23, COB (PST) Extended to August 29, COB (PST). Final slides must be uploaded by Sept 10. Please submit based on the categories listed below. If there are category or other issues, please contact us.
